INSPIRATION

When Yahoo set out to host an unforgettable, invitation-only CES party in Las Vegas, they wanted a giveaway that would feel as iconic as the night itself. To mark the occasion, Yahoo brought in legendary hip-hop group Public Enemy, making Flava Flav’s signature clock necklace the undeniable cultural reference point.

The ask: create a premium, fully functional clock necklace (not a novelty, not a disposable party favor) that served as a collectible piece attendees would proudly display, gift, or keep long after the night ended.

Yahoo brought in Whitestone to deliver something bold, elevated, and unforgettable, on a tight timeline, during the busiest time of year.

PLAN

Whitestone approached Yahoo as a new client, guiding them through a good/better/best strategy to ensure the final product aligned with the scale and significance of CES. While multiple vendors were considered, Yahoo ultimately chose Whitestone’s top-tier recommendation—a decision rooted in our ability to balance creativity, functionality, and flawless execution under pressure.

Despite the complexity of a fully custom build and quick turnaround, our team coordinated closely with Yahoo and our production partners to bring the vision to life, meeting frequently, problem-solving in real time, and pushing the product forward without compromise.

PRODUCT

600 fully custom, wearable clock necklaces

Fully functional timepiece with ticking mechanism

6-inch diameter clock face

Custom mold developed exclusively for the project

Rhinestone detailing along the perimeter for elevated impact

Designed as a display-worthy collectible, not a one-night novelty

Every detail was intentional. The clock was built to feel substantial, premium, and timeless. Something attendees would keep out of a landfill and in their homes, offices, or personal collections.

“Yahoo's merch absolutely crushed it at CES—we're talking so good that our clients literally wore those clocks to leadership meetings (and yes, we're 100% serious). It was a genuine surprise & delight moment—the kind that had everyone buzzing and made the whole night feel a little bit magical!”
