Our 2024 offsite company retreat was designed around the theme “Find Your Wild”–a call to embrace the adventurous spirit of Colorado and push beyond our comfort zones. We wanted to create an immersive experience where team members could connect, challenge themselves, and walk away with a renewed sense of creativity and collaboration. The gear we designed for the retreat reflect this ethos, blending functionality with sustainability, all while encouraging some exploration and adventure.

To bring the “Find Your Wild” vision to life, we began by focusing on creating a seamless and engaging experience for retreat attendees. Central to this effort was the development of a dedicated “Find Your Wild” website. This platform served as a central hub for all retreat-related information, streamlining communication and ensuring accessibility. Key details such as hotel accommodations, the trip itinerary, Denver recommendations, arrival logistics, and a comprehensive packing list were all consolidated into one easy-to-navigate location.

As part of our commitment to making a positive impact, we also hosted our first-ever Marine Layer Clothing Drive, where attendees donated a total of 250 shirts to be upcycled through Marine Layer’s innovative Re-Spun Program. By prioritizing clarity and convenience, the website became an essential tool for planning our clothing drive, reducing any travel-related stress and enhancing our team’s overall experience.

With the practical foundation in place, we turned our attention to the creative elements of our retreat. Our idea began with drawing inspiration from our 2024 trend forecast NATUREBLEND, which is all about championing products with versatility and promoting outdoor experiences. The brand team held creative brainstorm sessions and created a mood board to guide our vision; we featured earthy tones and spice hues, durable materials, and elements inspired by vintage designs from The National Forest and ‘Smokey Bear’ campaigns. Our goal was to craft products that weren’t just souvenirs but essential gear for the retreat experience. Product selection focused on sustainability, practicality, and an aesthetic that seamlessly tied into the retreat’s theme.

TOPO BACKPACK

To build excitement and set the stage for our gear launch, Whitestone sent unbranded Topo Backpacks to the team ahead of their trip to Denver. This gave them a chance to gear up with a bag made for adventure. More than just a travel essential, the backpack became a symbol of the retreat experience. Upon arriving in Denver, attendees customized their packs with pins and patches from their welcome kits, turning them into personalized keepsakes that combined function with self-expression.

“The offsite merch was the perfect pair for the Denver vibe! It set the mood and excitement for adventure. My favorite item was the Topo Designs backpack that came with stick on patches and pins so we could make it our own”

“My favorite product was the Crewneck Sweatshirt: I've worn this thing out! It's my fave sweatshirt and is so warm and cozy. I loved receiving it and wearing it all across CO on our extended trip after offsite.

As always, Whitestone knocks it out of the park with our off-site merch and the surprise and delight of receiving the merch upon arrival is one of my most favorite parts!”

Our team actively used their products throughout our stay–from staying hydrated on ropes courses to documenting their reflections in custom journals. Beyond their use at the retreat, these items serve as lasting mementos of a transformative company-wide getaway, embodying the spirit of adventure, teamwork, and discovery.
