INSPIRATION

RMS Beauty approached us with a vision to create a memorable gift for Ulta Beauty team members—something elevated and on-brand to mark the milestone of their expanded rollout. Rather than offering another standard crossbody bag or basic tote, they wanted something distinctive that would resonate with today’s trends–specifically, a stadium-friendly accessory that merged style with practicality.

The concept crystallized around a sleek clutch silhouette that could seamlessly transition from game day to concert venues while embodying the brand's elevated aesthetic.

THE PLAN

Our strategy centered on creating a curated collection of compact, stylish bags that would resonate with the brand's aesthetic. We began the design process with extensive mockups, initially exploring fanny pack concepts before collaborating closely with the RMS Beauty team to pivot toward a more refined clutch design.

An early glittery red prototype became instrumental in refining our direction, helping us evolve the concept into a sophisticated, flat profile that perfectly captured RMS Beauty's elevated aesthetic. This collaborative approach proved essential; incorporating client feedback and reference samples allowed us to fine-tune both the visual appeal and functionality. By balancing creative vision with competitive pricing, we developed a solution that would deliver maximum impact.

PRODUCT

The final design is a streamlined clutch that embodies effortless sophistication. Its compact footprint doesn't compromise on functionality, offering easy access to essentials while maintaining a sleek profile.

Designed specifically for the modern lifestyle of Ulta Beauty team members, the clutch serves as a versatile accessory that transitions seamlessly from everyday use to special events, making it both a stylish and practical addition to any wardrobe.

RESULTS

Production was completed with 3,000 custom clutches, just in time to support RMS Beauty’s expanded in-store rollout at Ulta. While not consumer-facing, these exclusive gifts played a key role in celebrating the milestone internally, offering Ulta Beauty team members a tangible token of appreciation and excitement.

The thoughtfully designed accessory not only reinforced RMS Beauty’s elevated brand identity but also fostered a deeper sense of connection with the Ulta team. By combining form, function, and intentional design, the clutch became more than just a gift; it served as a symbol of partnership, recognition, and brand momentum.
