Why We Joined 1% For the Planet

The Whitestone Team is comprised of people who genuinely care–about the brands we work with, the merch we create, and the world we live in. Joining 1% for the Planet wasn’t just a business decision; it is a reflection of who we are. The idea is simple yet powerful: pledge 1% of annual revenue to vetted environmental nonprofits working to protect the Earth.

From the beginning, we knew we wanted to do more than just donate. By leveraging our expertise in branded merchandise, we help environmental partners amplify their mission, spark awareness, and create real, lasting change.

Volunteered Hours with Environmental Partners

Clean Water, Branded with Purpose

In March of 2025, our CSR team traveled to Honduras to take our commitment to impact a step further. In partnership with Planet Water Foundation, we helped build an AquaTower that now provides clean, safe drinking water to an entire school and their surrounding community.

This wasn’t just a donation; it was a hands-on experience that embodied the spirit of 1% for the Planet. Our team rolled up their sleeves, worked alongside local partners, and saw firsthand the power of purpose-driven collaboration.

Environmental Partners We’ve Supported

So far this year, we’ve worked with 11 amazing environmental partners and donated intentional, impactful merchandise to their organizations. From coastal conservation to youth education, our donations help power events, reward volunteers, and bring nonprofit stories to life:

Pacific Beach Coalition

Nestled in California, the Pacific Beach Coalition rallies volunteers to restore habitats and protect coastlines through cleanups and education. To outfit their volunteer teams, we donated branded t-shirts and sweatshirts. These pieces didn’t just provide comfort; they offered cohesion and visibility to the incredible individuals caring for California's beaches.

Planting Justice

Planting Justice transforms urban spaces into vegetable gardens, promoting food sovereignty while creating meaningful jobs for formerly incarcerated individuals in California. Our donation of gardening aprons, FEED totes, and bright fruit-and-veggie stickers helped equip their team, distribute fresh produce, and engage the local community.

Greater Chicago Food Depository

Tackling food insecurity head-on, the Greater Chicago Food Depository fosters sustainable habits, like packing lunch to save resources. We supported their efforts by donating bento boxes, lunch bags, stickers, and even a hydropod, enabling them to nourish their community with fresh ideas and solutions.

The Ripple Effect

Every item we donate is part of a bigger story. It’s a story about intention, collaboration, and making a difference. Each product becomes a tool, a gift, or a symbol of support that helps drive these incredible missions forward.

We’re incredibly proud to stand alongside these organizations and turn our 1% into countless moments of positive impact. Together, we’re proving that even small acts can create a ripple effect of big change.
